“To The Mat” First Scholarship Awarded

Yesterday (10/2/2017) Central Valley Veterans – ‘To the Mat’ awarded our first ‘To the Mat’ scholarship. The award was made to Jalen White a Junior at Bullard High in Fresno, he participates in the legal program and the varsity basketball team.  He was supported by his mother Wendy Nelson who is U.S. Army Veteran and his Coach Tim Amundsen.  ​

All are excited to provide him with the scholarship to help with his basketball commitment.  He is a great expression of the mission of ‘To the Mat’ to keep Mat’s passions of empowerment to grow leaders alive.  Jalen aspires to go to college for criminology and continue his education to become a lawyer.  Congratulations Jalen!  Thank you to all of our generous supporters who made this possible.
